Student competition in social entrepreneurship

impACT³ – the student competition in social entrepreneurship – is an initiative of Jacobs University Bremen in cooperation with Vodafone Foundation Germany.

While German and other European universities are busy to strengthen entrepreneurship education inside and outside the curricula, the approach needs to be extended far beyond management sciences from Jacobs University Bremen's point of view. The visions of prospective natural and social scientist as well as future engineers and graduates from humanities are urgently needed in order to define sustainable development and find solutions to global challenges. Entrepreneurship is a tool: we are curious to see how you, the student teams, may use it and we wish all participants a lot of fun - and impACT!

5 teams were invited to present their initiatives during the award ceremony on 8th of December 2009 at Jacobs University Bremen. Only three teams were to win impACT3 awards. An independent jury of experts decided, who had the most innovative idea, created significant impact for the public good and convinced with a report and presentation. What did they make out of 4 EUR seed capital and which teams won 9.000 EUR prize money?
