Bucerius Law School

Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, the leading private and state-accredited law school in Germany, is characterized by its international focus, practical and performance orientation, and attention to the personal development of the individual student. It was founded in 2000 by the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius, one of Germany's largest private foundations, in order to stimulate new developments in higher education and to make a contribution to German legal education. To meet this challenge, Bucerius Law School offers an academically-accomplished and bilingual legal education with a focus on International Business Law. Sixteen full-time professorial chairs, an Institute for Foundation Law and the Law of Non-Profit Organizations, an Institute for Corporate Law and Capital Markets Law and a Center for Legal Didactics have all been established. Some 200 Ph.D. students - many of them working as research and teaching assistants - and many guest lecturers further enrich the curriculum. A wide range of conferences, external lectures and other international events also take place on the Bucerius campus.
