What is Social Entrepreneurship?

There are many existing definitions that describe ‘Social Entrepreneurship’ in broader or more specific terms. The scientific discussion is ongoing.

From our point of view, ‘Social Entrepreneurs’ are people who identify a societal or environmental problem and come up with an innovative solution. An entrepreneurial approach is also used for the effective and sustainable implementation of the solution. The ‘issues’ social entrepreneurs deal with may concern to natural resources, poverty, human rights, education, globalisation or those needs that require services or goods neither the government nor markets deal with.
