Alga-Energie

Germany as such is not rich in fossil fuels. Its huge demand for energy is fulfilled by import. Thus the problem of fuel is assuming a greater shape. This need of energy can be partially fulfilled by alternative energy sources like bio-fuels which can be obtained from algae. Algae grow best in waste water or sewage - agricultural, animal, or human. A lot of resources around the world are invested for the treatment of waste and sewage. Some of the pollutants in the waste water and sewage are nutrients on which algae thrive. Yet another fact is that the algae that grow in human-sewage tend to have a lot of oil. Combine the above three facts and you get a rather interesting solution: Grow algae in sewage or waste water to clean the medium while producing bio-fuels and removing CO2 from the atmosphere! The team “Alga-Energie” will concentrate on the improvement of the existent waste water treatment processes in novel ways. Further details can be found in the report!!!
